the
Hérault
region
Village & City life
Pézenas, Montpellier, Béziers and Saint-Guilhem-le-désert are just some of the absolute must-see places in the Hérault.
But there are plenty of other lesser-known gems that will tickle your fancy. La Couvertoirade, for example, is a virtually intact Templar fortress. Less than an hour's drive away, you will thus find numerous testimonies to the fascinating history of this region.
Take up the challenge and explore the historical heritage of this beautiful region. Immerse yourself in the mountains and valleys as far as the Mediterranean.
Hiking & Biking
The Hérault is a real hiking paradise for the hiker who likes variety. From our house you are either in the mountains (hills) or at the sea in less than an hour.
Numerous walks are marked out in this region, alternating beautiful views with pretty villages and a drink on a shady terrace.
Those who love ancient ruins and medieval mysticism will be in their element here. The valley of the Hérault is dotted with ruins and villages that quietly testify to its sometimes turbulent history. Nature varies in equal measure, by the sea you will find flamingos inland you will find kites or bee-eaters.
Sun, sea &sand
I am not a beach-goer myself, but those who love sun and sea can find more than enough sand on the beaches of Séte and Agde to settle down in for a day.
In this region of France, the beaches already vary from sandy to pebbly or rocky. The narrow strip between Séte and Agde and between the bassin de Thau and the Mediterranean is the beach experience par excellence. Indeed, there is nothing else to experience.
In 45 minutes you can be on site from our house. Another tip: afterwards, go out for dinner in Bouzigue: oysters and other delicacies from the sea are carefully cultivated here in the salty waters of the bassin de Thau.
