Montpellier

Montpellier has been a university city for many years (1289), which means that you can go and have a beer at one of the many terraces and cafes that this city has to offer. But it also means that there is always something to do and that the city is always on the move. In the medieval heart of the city, the narrow streets crisscross each other, but in the 18th century part of the city you will find large spacious straight boulevards full of large shops. In the even newer part of the city you are confronted with yet another vision of the city and the city continues to rejuvenate and renew.

Béziers

The main attraction of Béziers is certainly the cathedral that towers over the city and can be admired from afar. The Cathedral of Saint Nazara of Béziers was built in the 13th century and climbing the hill on which this cathedral was built is well worth the effort. Visiting the cathedral itself is worthwhile, but also the view from this place. You get a beautiful view over the city, the Canal Du midi and the beautiful old bridge over this canal. The rest of the city is also sympathetic and well worth a visit.

Pézenas

Discovering the historic center of this old market town, home to Molière and its "famous theatre" is a real revelation and a trip back in time. In the picturesque setting of this well-preserved gem of architectural heritage, it is the small shops of all kinds of craftsmen and the many flea markets that scream for the attention of the many tourists who come to marvel at all that beauty.

This old market town will not soon lose its mercantile soul. Maybe sell, because everything has its price, right? Totally worth it and you don't even have to go far.

Sète / Cap D'Agde

This town, steeped in maritime traditions, where the Canal du Midi finally reaches the Mediterranean, is a strange mix of fishing port, culinary hotspot and cultural cauldron. Did you know that the famous French song farmer George Brassens is buried here? He is therefore probably the most famous of all Sétois.

Agde used to be a shelter for sailors. In the 17th century decision Richelieu build a harbor with a pier. A lighthouse and a fortress were built on the Île de Brescou. Plans to build a dyke from the cape south to the island remained unfulfilled. The seaside resort was built in the 1970s.
